Kosava Day Trip
During The month of November in 2015 we undertook a Day trip to The Kosava Institute (which is located in Belarus). This led to a memorable and fun experience where we were invited to participate in an arts and crafts session. The photos below show only snapshots of the session. In photo one we see Gayla (left) who lives at the Kosava Institute, alongside April Maria (right) who lives in Minsk and is our first Belarussian Volunteer, standing at either side with Feder (middle) who is a resident of Kosava as well as an award-winning published poet. The woollen hat and scarf worn by Gayla was kindly knitted by a knitting circle from our home area in Newry.
In photo two and photo three we managed to capture some of the activities completed during this session where the wall of the Arts and Crafts room (photo three) was decorated with sea shells from beaches around Newcastle and Cranfield in Co.Down as well as Greenore in Co.Louth.
During our trip one of our volunteers reflected on his visit saying: "My favourite place in Kosava has to be the Arts/Craft room, it is so peaceful to sit in and to watch".
A great day enjoyed!!
