About WEast Chernobyl
WEast Chernobyl is a non-governmental voluntary humanitarian and development aid organisation, based in Northern Ireland and working in various regions in Belarus.

A History
WEast Chernobyl was formed in early 2008 by 3 Newry men -
Pat Craven, Brian Fitzpatrick and Gerald Duffy.
All of the founders had previous experience of charitable work in Belarus, prior to 2008, in various Institutes and Orphanages. All the volunteers of WEast Chernobyl have been invited into the group from various parts of Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and most recently Belarus. Since our establishment in 2008 we have undertaken renovation and building work at Puchavichi Adult Institute along with activities to stimulate their physical and mental well-being. WEast Chernobyl depends greatly on the goodwill and support in Ireland, both North and South, of local people, organisations and businesses to achieve its objectives in Belarus.
